I am not pro AI

As a software engineer I’ve always just wanted to build software and ship it to users.

Before I contribute meaningfully to a codebase, I’ll tune architecture, workflows and tooling to ensure I am 100% productive. The aim is always zero friction, zero frustration.

As a result, I’ve spent a lot of time working on dev tooling, automation, infrastructure and sociotechnical aspects.

A lot of things have come along that helped me on my mission - DevOps/DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, cloud computing/serverless, and so on.

AI is the next evolution in software engineering boosts. I’m not a true believer, a maximalist, a hype merchant. If it dies (unlikely) or something better comes along (likely), I’ll evolve with the next wave.

I’m not pro AI.

I’m pro getting shit done.
